**UPDATED**

Hey guys, i use to come here in the past, about 2 years ago when i built the computer i'm currently using.

I'm working on a new gaming rig complete re haul so to say and these are the specs i came up with.

These are all from newegg, since i can't find any better prices from what i was able to search. Any feed back would be appreciated

Remind you, this is for a Gaming computer, i want to spend $1,000, but the rig i have created is just a tad over $32.92 to be exact (not including shipping)

Thoughts or comments would be appreciated, thanks for your time

i updated it, changed power supply to lower wattage and got a diff HD

would be nice to get that ATI, but it's way to expensive, it's main reason why i settled for the 260 instead cause its 200-300 dollars cheaper

i'll up date with links, i didn't think about it

ahh good catch thanks for pointing that out.

Has ATI really changed lately? cause 2 years ago people were saying how far behind in technology they were from nvidia, guess they have gotten better?

i'll check these out then. also if i decided to get the ati would i need to change my motherboard or anything else?

vinman the one you suggested has better core clock and stream proccessors.

but where the ATI says stream processing units, nvidia says stream processing cores. now would that be important to take note of?

also the ATI memory is not as good as the nvidia memory. seems slower and has poorer memory interface.

so to me they are basically the same thing. I did look at some other ATI ones and i came to the same conclusion. i will say ATI does seem to be tad less expensive but to me seem just a tad not as good as nvidia from what i can get from the information given.

lol ati is better for performance/money wise
if you go with nivida your basically paying for the name

Don't listen to him at all. That's not even close to being true. How are you paying for the name when the counterparts for each company pretty much cost around the same? Stop being an idiot and think about everything you say before you say it.

case is too cheap and power supply is cheap too
I havent personally bought them but my Rosewill PSU I bought a few years died on me the next month, the store warranty was 60 days =D so I figured, okay it was a bad one, gets another one same model. It died in a week. Finally got a better one. Which to this day is still being used.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139005 better PSU

I was gonna buy that case but the comments and reviews pretty much all said it was a cheap quality made

heres a decent one

I am buying a High end pc too but going AMD and ATI as long it can mw2

thats all I care about LOL You will want to overclock so pick up a better fan. or maybe even watercool system?!

as of RIGHT now ATI for the win. Nvidia latest 295 is GDDR3.......... while ATI 5000 series are GDDR5

and the 295 is Direct X 10 while ATI is already at Direct X 11 -_-.................

BUT overall, it really depends what game you are playing with it, we never really go into this, you gotta based cards on their architecture made-based some games will run batter on ATI while some will run better on Nvidia

Do you even understand the concept of graphic memory?

DirectX doesn't really matter. Wasn't 10 supposed to be this huge step up that nobody took?

Architecture has nothing to do with it at all. The only thing that influences is the size of the die, TDP and ability to overclocking. It won't make the game run any faster because of that alone. It all depends on how the game was coded.

More reasons for nobody to listen to you.
