I'm considering buying a brand new, sealed, HP Mini Netbook (Model: 110-1125NR) from a friend, but it has Win7 Starter Edition on it. I know I can buy the upgrade from Microsoft to jump to a better version but I already have an unused retail copy of Win7 Ultimate, is it possible to upgrade using the retail disk without losing all the factory-installed software and drivers? Thanks.

I'm pretty sure it's possible so long as your 7 Ultimate DVD is a full version. But you're probably better off doing a clean install. The software that they bundle with new PCs is usually crap or trial versions. This is always the first thing I get rid of when I get a new PC.
