so my current video card is artifacting like crazy and i think its the cause for my recent BSODs. so its time for me to get a new card. right now i have a evga geforce 7900gt.

here are my system specs:
2.2ghz amd athlon x2
2gb ram
550w PSU
currently running windows vista but upgrading to 7 as soon as i get a new video card.

i do not really do a whole lot of gaming so i was thinking of something in the 100-200 dollar range. so far i have considered a xfx radeon hd 4870
or an evga e-geforce 9800gt. not quite sure what i should get so thats why im asking others opinions.

a 4870 will kick a 9800s ass. But if you dont game then that would be a waste of money seeing as the 9800's still kick ass

i can get a 9800 gt for $119 CDN. and the 4870 i was looking at was 164 CDN. if i got a good grahics card i would prob pick up computer gaming again.

if you don't game why don't you get a low profile card? such as a 94/95/9600 gt

or a 4650

I really don't see why you would need a 100+ card
