I'm going to start ordering the parts for my computer over the next month and a half. I'm going to order the case and hard drives this weekend and then buy the CPU and GPU last because those are the most likely to go down in price in my opinion. I'm going to use this for gaming and a tiny bit of photo editing.

I realize that the graphics card is horrible but since newegg.ca doesnt have any of the 58xx cards on their website then i've decided to buy a cheap one until they get some of the highest end graphics cards. I might be able to pick up a GTS 250 from work for twice that price and i dont think that its worth it. Any opinions?

Looks like the kind of computer I'm planning on building in the next 3 months or so. As an interim graphics card that selection is fine. I know you were probably hoping for someone to point out something that's wrong with your build so that you could fix it or something, but those look like solid selections.

CPU is solid, good mobo choice, RAM should do well, pretty nice timings on it, RAID 0 is good, I love the Antec 1200 case, the Antec Earthwatts 750W is a solid PSU, got good reviews, V8 is about the best price vs. performance cooler out there, its about the best you can get without spending $100+.

Why Professional version of Win7? I don't see any viable reasoning to pay for Pro/Ultimate over Home Premium 64b.

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824254040&cm_re=24.6-_-24-254-040-_-Product they love to put this monitor on sale for $200 like every other week on newegg.com, keep an eye on it it might go down on .ca too, its a great price for a 25" monitor. If not, that monitor you choose is good.

Overall all great choices, I don't see anywhere you could get better deals or any erroneous choices. Nice build.

thanks for the advice, im getting the pro version of win 7 because i want xp mode. i'll watch for that monitor.

also, would a GT 210 be more powerful than the HD 4650?

nvm, i found out today that i can get windows 7 ultimate for $10 through my employer(best buy)
