ok, so heres the dirt,
already have optical drives, monitor, ect.
will be gaming on a 24in screen.
dosnt want/have the budget for DX11 cards.
no CPU overclocking either.

Will be playing games like FSX, Crysis, STALKER ect.
should last atleast 5 years, will be able to be cross-fired later.

Areocool Case
reminds me of a compressor, on a jet lol.

does crossfireing in 8x / 8x really slow down the GPUs compaired to running in 16x / 16x ?

4890 Turbo Plus

Corsair 750W PSU

Phenom 955 Quad

Gskill 4GB DDR3 Ripjaws

640GB AAKS WD HDD

and then the W7 64Bit oem.

hows it look? All compatible, and a good build?

In response to 8x/8x vs 16x/16x. The difference will most likely be a couple of frames. It's not terribly important - More of an enthusiast's thing.

Few things:

Are we trying to make this a bit cheaper?
The AeroCool only comes with 1 fan, from what I have read
The RAM you have chosen is designed for systems using the QPI so the voltage is 1.5-1.65.
Everyone says the MSI 790GX is really nice; Isn't the MSI cheaper, too?

OCZ PC3-12800 AM3 enthusiast 2x2Gb
OCZ PC3-12800 Special Ops 2x2Gb

NZXT Tempest
Comes decked out with fans.

MSI 790FX
Supports Dual Crossfire of 16x+16x. This is the FX which is a bit more expensive, but I'd say well worth the upgrade.

^ Benchmarks of running crossfire 4850s on a 8x/8x vs 16x/16x.

Crysis benchmarks, 2x HD 4850s in crossfire (8x/8x vs 16x/16x)

I wouldn't worry too much about it.

^ Yeah, that's the GX. I was thinking of the FX which is quite a bit more expensive. But the GX from MSI looks like it does the same thing as the ASUS.

Looking closer, The ASUS and MSI GX's are the same price; In that case, I'd spec out which has better features and goodies in the box.

Yeah I'm using an ASUS 790GX on my primary build, and it works great.

i would get different RAM, AMD boards dont support RAM thats faster than 1333MHz

why would you say that if it says on the boards page itself it supports 1600Mhz Ram?

and thanks for the special ops Ram, i think i'll change the ram to that, and the MSI one i posted that you mentioned.

Total : 940$

Damn. Do you already have some fans you want to use? I'd suggest getting a cheaper case. CM's Elite 330 is a nice basic looking chassis but has decent flow and design.
