I would like to know how to make a HIT Counter for my Web Page.

I just want a counter that just dispalays Numbers.

I know the Script or code part goes in my CGi Bin on my server.

And then I put a code in my Page that will be seen.

But I have been all over and get so mixed up.

Can anyone tell me how to do this step by step?
I realy want to know for myself how to make one.
