Internet without a phone line.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!

I pay for a phone line which I don't use because I have a cell phone. I have a phone line so I can have an Internet connection. After I make my desktop wireless, http://www.computerforums.org/showthread.php?p=985140#post985140, I want to cancel my phone line and get a wireless Internet account. Probably with ATT because this is where I have my cell phone with.

Has anyone done this before? Is it more expensive then a phone line. $63 a month? How would you go about doing this?

You don't need to make your desktop wireless. What they will do is give you a USB adapter that will let you connect to their 3G network.

I don't know if you'll be able to use one on a desktop. They typically recommend them for laptops. The best thing I can say is to give AT&T a call and see what they have to say.

Do you have cable TV? If so, it'll be cheaper to bundle it up with cable internet service.

No I have satelite, Direct TV. I need to call AT&T to see what my options are.
