whats wrong with my start bar?

okay i have it set to auto-hide when not in use
but if i have more then 2 windows/apps open it just stays on top of everything
and i have mine docked to the top of my monitor
its a very annoying thing when i cant even close a window
any one have any ideas?

Pulling at strings here. Dock the task-bar back to the bottom and see if it behaves the same way.

I use auto-hide, docked at the bottom, and it does as it should.

Agreed, just see what happens if it is at the bottom, if it is the same behavior than we can go from there.

On a side note... Right-click on a program on the start-bar and click close to close it if you can't get to the X.

i think i may have solved it
i have Ccleaner on my pc, and a new version was out
it kept asking me if i wanted to update
so i finally did
when i did i uninstalled the old Ccleaner, and installed the new
along with Adaware
and so far so good
