It's a 3dB increase for every speaker you add. How are you getting something that's four times as loud?

It's a 3dB increase for every speaker you add. How are you getting something that's four times as loud?

I was thinking that it'd double the amplitude. Which is every 6dB. But I think it may only sound twice as loud, which would be 3dB. So if it were to have increased by 6cB, it'd be 4, because twice to go three, then twice again to go another 3.
