Adding to existing images

For any users of Acronis True Image, is it possible to add extra data to an existing image, as opposed to having to create a brand new image with the the new data addition? Can such a thing be achieved in Norton Ghost?

I believe that this can be done using the Ghost explorer tool

-edit the answer above would be for Ghost, I think that there is a similar tool for Acronis images as well,
if the worst came to the worst I think that you may be able to boot acronis images as a virtual machine. -though I've never had a call to test this!
