Windows Movie Maker is in XP.

I like windows movie maker in XP but it's getting kind of dated now. It won't handle quicktime movies and some of the mp4 formats I don't think it will edit.

I have had the same question and I think I am actually going to spend money and buy Sony Vegas to make my movies. : (

The good Vegas editors cost $600 (for pro 8)
I reckon Pinnicle Studios is the best cheaper editor.

They have a stripped down version of vegas for under 100 bucks. It comes with acid music and some DVD authoring software. I think this is what I am going to get.
