if air flow in your case is a concern, get this Powercolor 4870 for $5 more than the other one, it vents out the back of the PC and comes with a free S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game...

Theres another problem their it uses more power, and also doesnt come with 4pin's to 6pin, my powersupply has 4 extra 4pins and the XFX comes with two of them.. another thought is i could just set a fan to blow into my computer i did it once before and it lowered by like 10c

explain to me how a 4870 uses more power than a 4870...? they both require two 6 pin power leads from the PSU, and if your PSU doesn't have any 6 pin PCI-E connectors I really wouldn't be sure it could handle a card like a 4870 in the first place, what brand is your PSU...? and how many amps on the 12v rail(s)...? most decent halfway modern PSUs come with at least one 6 pin PCI-E connector...

I have the ASUS 4870 Glaciator+ - It uses a Non-Reference Cooler. My temp's are pretty good:

Load:

Idle:

i wouldnt use that PSU with a 4850 or 4870
i know itll be pushing it but down clock a little bit like core down 50 and mem 100 , gpureview they both use same ammount of wats / and both recomend 450w but i think itll be fine but yes pushing it and my psu is powern my mobo cpu hardrive and the card only.

yea i just shouldnt try it u guys are right like really not even worth it and on a 17inch monitor at 1280x1024 completely retartd overkill and bottleneck so
although 4850 im sure it can handle , was lookn at wattage charts 4870 sucks power were as 4850 about 50wats lower underload which i think would be fine so either

herm. idk about the GTS 250's anymore though
but just for the sake of it maybe this

GTS i wont overclock since itll void BFG warranty but the 4850 will be overclocked to about same specs as the 250 so 250 mite just be the one 2 buy
and for any card being 1g or 512 just a 17inchmonitor so either work fine
