So on my family's computer, I'm having some problems with ad-aware.
I try to update it, and then it crashes. Just stops. If I try to run it, it starts scanning, then crashes. I've tried reinstalling it.
Short of doing a system restore, is there anything I can do to fix this? Any known spyware programs that do this? AVG antivirus comes up with mere tracking cookies.
It works fine on my computer too. I think it may have something to do with my brother's lack of computer knowledge, so he downloads everything and just clicks next through the installation, so he added a bunch of crap to Internet explorer (I'm not allowed to switch it to Firefox because my dad, who knows a bit more about computers than my brother, thinks that it will mess the computer up. And even if I did my brother would all but refuse to use it) and when you google something, it doesn't direct you to the results.
