my computer does not turn off

I try and turn off my computer (start > shut down) but it goes to and stays on "Logging Off".... (vista) what might it be??

Everytime? Could be some corrupt files. Hold the power button in until it shuts off.

no its a desktop. a new one by the way from my job.

you might have a process that is causing your computer to not log off, try closing some programs.
