Well it's not really a hack more of a prank.


Well a personal favorite is to hit print screen on the desktop, paste that in any editor.
For example Microsoft paint.
Shorten the image a bit from the bottom, so it removes the toolbar.
Then make that image the desktop wallpaper.

After doing this, right click on the desktop > Arrange Icons By: Then un-tick Show desktop icons.

This will stay like this even after restart, confusing the user as they click the icons (really there wallpaper) and nothing happens.

Actually, leave the start menu on, and then shrink it down so that doesn't work either.

the key to that one is subtlety. Do very very very few, slight changes, like just the z and the x. Nobody knows exactly where they go.

LOL ... all funny stuff but not really hacks. They are just pranks.

Keeping with the theme.... in a computer lab, switch two mice/keyboards around but leave them plugged into the other computer. So that my mouse/keyboard controls the computer beside me instead of mine.
