What would you guys suggest you have and not bottle neck the card. Im currently with Quad core 2.86ghz. Do i need to go higher?

You mean the Q9550?

Overclock it and find out ;)

It will depend mostly on your resolution though, the higher the res (1920x1200+), the more work the GPU has to do and the GPU will become the bottleneck. At lower resolutions, the CPU is the bottleneck and that is why there is no point in buying a high end card when you have a small monitor.

so worshipme
with a quad core OCed to 3 GHz + (lets say up to 4 GHz [if possible])
how would that work for a GTX 275 with 1798MB of ram
in your experiance and personal opinion would that still bottle neck the GPU on a 1680 x 1020 screen?

Unless its a Core i7 don't expect to get it to 4GHz easily; unless you have liquid cooling.

I personally think the Q9550 would run up to the gtx 285 fine and the 295 with some over clocking. Im trying to get an ideah of where my processor should be.
