Alright. I'm hoping someone has first hand suggestions (i.e. used the product), but I'll take any suggestions from someone who knows their stuff about surge protectors. The requirements:
-Needs to be able to handle 1200W (is this enough to cover a 42" plasma and a 750W computer PSU--granted, the PSU will probably never hit full bore). More = better, under = no go.
-I'm looking for probably around the 4000 joule range, but I'm not sure. This is from what I've read.
-I'm NOT looking for a UPS.
-I do NOT care how long the cord is.
-I do, however, think that outlets spaced out for transformers (i.e. AC->DC converters on the ends of things like your phone/dsl modem/etc) would be nice, but NOT necessary; right now (in my dorm) I won't have many things with transformer plugs since my dsl modem, router, and phone are at home. However, please keep the plug requirements in mind below:
-Would like coaxial protection as well. Ethernet protection would be awesome, but totally not needed. I won't pay more for that.
-This needs to be able to preferably plug in: A) One transformer style plug for something down the road that might go in my dorm. B) 6-8 3-prong plugs. I'm thinking 1 for laptop, 1 for desktop, 1 for monitor. 1 for 42" plasma, 1 for DVD player, 1 for future console. 1 for stereo (maybe) and possibly one for my guitar amp (this is probably unlikely as I don't know if it'll even be at my dorm. And if it is, it won't stay plugged in and probably doesn't need to be plugged into a high class surge protector).
-If the company offers a protection warranty, in my book that makes them more legit than ones who don't...though I do have renter's insurance for my dorm.
Can I get something that'll fit my budget? I would think so...but...
Any place is fine to get it. I've looked at WalMart and NewEgg and this is what I've found. Please tell if what is and isn't good, or suggest your own. It seems that I'm looking for something rated at around 1800W, 330V A/C clamping and around 4000 joules. Seem right? To add, I've found most of the ones I've found that seem "good" are Belkin's. I saw a few TrippLites and their wattage and a/c clamping was a lot lower, as was their warranty. These are listed in order of my preference (best first):

It'd be wonderful just to grab site-to-store on that first one. I can grab it about 5-10 min from my campus when it comes in. Newegg will take just as long and require a trip home. So, aka, if no one finds any significant fall backs with numbero uno, I'll grab that one.
