ok so ive been away from cf for a little while, can someone please sum up this thread / the staff vs member problems ive read about that relate to this?

Have to agree with the Rooster here. We were promised scores and scores of new members flooding to and clogging up the server to sign up to CF once the new overclocking forum was opened. Whether having it on the front page makes a diff to how many people post in the remains to be seen and i am certainly not convinced. Pretty much all the members should know where it is by now and barely any post there and you really aren't going to get new members signing up to post in it when there are specialist forums out there dedicated to overclocking. So it is pie in the sky stuff and it will only ever remain a very small posting section. IMO....note the IMO as it is my opinion....but so far it is backed up by fact.

Ok, maybe it wasn't as great of a success, but I still believe it can be. Why? Because every time I check the HW/SW, I see some OverClocking threads. The forum would be a success if it was on the main page because instead of going to SW/HW where they'd just post the thread, they'd go to OC. At least, that's how my logic suggests of their behavior. Additionally, on some of the suggested layouts, OC is coupled with modding and cooling (when on the main page). IMO, that would be a very good forum (OC, Cooling, Modding) to have right when you log in.

This is a screenshot I just took:

It may seem like it's not a lot, but I think that if these threads were actually moved to the OC forum, we'd start accumulating a lot more.

I agree with joga. Once there's something of a knowledgebase there. And the moved links in general hardware software thread start to drive traffic to OCing, it will improve

The data is being transferred to he test server as we speak, when its running I'll start a new thread to discuss the test layout as this one seems to be way off topic

Well here we are again, trying to do another update. After sitting here for a few hours, every restore of the DB fails with some stupid error. Apache complains about missing modules. I'm sick of updates
