Those are all screenshots of the problem... Every time I open or close a window I get this weird flickering. I been looking around the net for answers and all I can infer is that my GPU is dying?

Is that a possible cause? Do I need to start planning on a new computer or is this just some graphics card issue? (I have a Nvidia Geforce 7900) and a Samsung SyncMaster 213T
Can it be a vista bug?

Well thanks in advance for any insights to this problem. Any solutions would be great.

How does your PC cope with 3D games and suchlike? It's possible it's the graphics card that's dying, but not necessarily so. My initial advice would be to upgrade your graphics card drivers and make sure they're at the latest version available if you haven't already done so.

I have updated the drivers and i thought the problem went away but its still here.
Games.. I have run games like crysis, gears of war, battlefield 2142, half life 2, doom 3, and need for speed carbon with high resolution and most of the advanced features enabled with no problems, besides the fps dipping below on the processor intensive larger scenes in some of those games.

This is the only problem I have encountered graphics wise with my computer unfortunately.

If it is my graphics card would it be wise to get a new one and put it in the same computer?

Check to see if your case is clean and well ventilatied. You GPU may be over heating causing the problems.

If he's not having issues in his games, then I doubt it's the gpu/graphics card. I would think it would be something with Vista perhaps. Trying using a different theme and see if it makes a differece (like a Windows Classic or XP theme). Maybe turn off aero if it's on?
