About a month ago I got a new mouse pad:

I have a wireless microsoft optical mouse 2.0

worked fine for a month, then tonight I moved some things around on my desk and unhooked everything. Plugged the mouse back in and now the mouse will not work on the pad???? it works on the desk. I changed the batteries and restarted but still nothing on the pad, it's like the mouse is not plugged in. but instantly works perfect on the desk?

WTF?
any ideas what would have happened in the hour it was unplugged to make it stop working?

yeah I cleaned it and re-connected it.
Might be a good excuse to get the G9 that's on sale @ best buy....

Ya know I've noticed that a lot of Optic mouses' have trouble on mouse pads.
Many pads I've seen are textured, and this could be throwing off the laser..
But, your right that is weird.. You should at lest be getting something.
Then again, if it works on the desk.. screw it. Why not return the pad and just use the mouse on the hard wood?

1) The mouse pad has two surfaces, one "control" with texture and the other side is "speed" that is completely smooth?????? won't work on either? again just fine last time I unplugged it.

2) I did that for a while, fine at first then after about 6 months, you start to take the finish off the desk.

I don't know if I still have the receipt from Best Buy for it?
