We can't even get back to the Moon for now!!
Once again even if it is possible to live there, push it to the side for a little bit, research and prepare and everything, but don't be doing full scale work on, we're not ready

Just because another planet might have water doesn't mean that it's habitable...I am sure the temps on Jupiter's Moons are minus hundreds of degrees Celcius plus the fact that they don't have breathable atmospheres.

Also....we are not at the technology stage yet to even get people that far, let alone take along equipment to build a moon base........

Maybe in 100 years a planet like that might be concidered habitable.

Lol I love how they have all these plans to make colonies and Mars, and even Venus! (High up in atmosphere Venus is like Earth, they would use a blimp-like station)
Why don't they start with something a little closer (Moon, or even the oceans) and then go to those planets.
I think human civilization is starting to skip steps.

The water is believed to be under the surface of the moon Europa and not on the surface. Also the tempature on the surface is colder than the poles on the earth. We would have to go below the surface to where the water is for shelter. If we did that then we would have no natural lights.

I just read that NASA doesn't have the money to fund anything like though. It is all an idea hoping to be completed years into the future. But they are designing a space craft that will hover about 60 miles over the surface of Europa and take pictures and it will take aprx. 9 years for the vehicle to reach the moon.

But if we continue onto the year 2013 I think there will have been great inmprovments in the fields of computer sciences, and healthcare(not talking about socialized healthcare)

Honestly, who the hell is going to want to live on one of the other planets (if it was possible)? I know I wouldn't wanna waste years of my life just TRAVELING to the planet. Bah. I don't think anything like that will happen for many many years...after I'm dead maybe. Transportation will need to change greatly for it to be feasible.

And we've got our own problems on our hands anyways...

I'm talking right NOW. A small moon base with minimal facilities a few social interactions?..that would be a pretty pathetic life, IMHO. Travel for years to get, risking your life in the process anyways. I mean, the failure rate is probably pretty damn high the way it is. Sorry if you don't feel the same--I respect that, and no offense to you.
