New Gaming Desktop.

A 950 might be unnecessary, he may want it for the future but might as well get a 920..

*sigh* Can't ship to NZ.

The Intel Processor is priced at $1200 NZ. The graphics card, around $900. :(

I want to live in America now :(

Just thought I'd show you what I ordered in the end. For $2000 NZ, it's not a flash as I hoped, but it should be fine.

Do you know anyone in the states that can buy the parts here for you then ship them over? Shipping would be a little pricey but I'm sure it's a lot better than paying $1200 NZ for a core i7 920, which is absolutely outrageous.

Hold on that is not gonna work you got an intel core 2 quad and an AM3 socket motherboard.

You will need to get a socket 775 motherboard that one will not work with your processor.

You will also need to make sure that the mother board supports DDR3 ram as well because not many 775 socket mother boards support DDR3.

You might be better off just buying an AMD processor if the mother board and ram need to be shipped back. The Phenom II x3 720 black edition processors are really nice and might be a little cheaper than the core 2 quad you picked. That way instead of having to either return the mother board and the ram or get a more expensive 775 socket motherboard with DDR3 support you could just return the processor and get a different one. One return shipping and saving money on the processor is much better than returning 2 items or paying more for a mother board that supports DDR3.

Go for AMD processors and mobo.
I recommend Phenom II Dual or Quad.

4G DDR2 SDRAM with low memory timing or DDR3 SDRAM is suitable for gaming.

GTX 260+ or HD 4850+ is good for GPU.

You should be able to get all those for under $1350 US.
