TV as Monitor...

I'm probably beating a dead horse with this topic but it seems like all the info I can find reguarding use of an HDTV as a monitor is very old.

I have an HP Pavilion dv7t laptop that has an HDMI port and I want to know if I can use an LCD TV (I'm looking at the Samsung 46" 750 series) as a monitor. I know it works great for movies but I also want to surf the net and even use Excel and Word... all from my couch via bluetooth keyboard and mouse! I basically want to plug my laptop into the TV and still have the DVD, the Wii, and PS2 usable also!

Will it work or am I just too wishfull?

Yes, you will easily be able to do this. Once you plug in via HDMI, you should be able to just switch over to the HDMI input on your TV and be done. Some TV's are a bit pickier than others, so you may have to do some tweaking. Even the Intel 4500MHD integrated graphics is powerful enough to do a 46" though.
