Are these any good?

I just found these while looking at windows 7 stuff and wondered if they are any good compared to what I have now. I have been looking for an affordable upgrade for a while now.

I couldn't see any benchmarks quickly on those new cards (and it doesn't look like they're out yet?) but just on a hunch I'd expect them to probably be slower than your current setup, certainly not noticeably quicker. They seem to be aimed firmly at the budget market, and while they may be affordable, they may not be an upgrade at all!

That said, the only way to tell for sure is to wait until some benchmark figures are out on a machine comparable to yours and then compare results.

They are very low end cards. Your 8600GTS will thrash them.

I don't. I just want something that can run my games at higher settings. I was looking at getting the gts250 but I would have to buy a new psu and I just don't want to do all that.

Im sure they're just for running vista/7 smoothly and thats about it
