Graphics Card Upgrade

Well, I will soon be upgrading my graphics card and I was wondering if my 610 watt PC Power and Cooling power supply will be able to handle a ATI 4890. I currently has a Nvidia 8600gt. If someone could help me out that would be great! Thanks!

I thought voltage coming off the rails was important than just wattage

I don't think that should matter though, seeing as how this is just a single card and not crossfire.

Available amps is another important aspect to choosing a power supply, but the PC Power and Cooling 610W Silencer supplies 49A which is plenty for most any video card. ATI makes no specifications on total amps, just wattage. ATI recommends at least a 500W power supply for the HD 4890.

...on the same topic to avoid a new thread,
I plan to upgrade to a 4890 soon as well. Would my 500W hold up given my current specs?

Your sig says 600W o.o

and i think that would be cutting it close

oops, I always thought I had 500W but now that I double checked with the PSU box, it is 600W =)
