The cleaned up version looks good, compression is killing the original image.

I think we should post the uncompressed version up there. It cant be making that much of a load speed difference to a modern Pc with broadband connection speeds. On the subject of changing the logo i have to say i like the current one. It's CFs identity and whilst i'm not going to disapprove of change i think it needs to be done with some planning and a consensus agreement amongst members.
