Eh, I think it has both good and bad, but overall I don't really like it. The government is spending our money to take crap cars and crush them. I don't see how that is benefiting me at all. Sure, they say it's better for the environment to have more fuel efficient cars, but it's been said that if people have more fuel efficient cars, they drive more, which balances out that savings of gas...so if you ask me it's not really doing all that much for the environment. The good thing is that it helps out the car makers, but honestly, the car makers got themselves where they are in the first place. Toyota and Honda are doing great, GM and Chrysler are doing poor because of their decisions. I say if they set themselves up for failure then let them fail. I love GM cars, I have a Pontiac, and the family has a great 05 Silverado we use for towing...but I don't want to give them more money then I already do to bail them out.
EDIT: About global warming...as mentioned in the post above. I have a question to ask those who are gung-ho Al Gore followers on global warming. You (the Al Gore followers) say that carbon waste is a huge cause of global warming, but look at mars. Why are it's Ice caps melting if it has no carbon?
I do believe we might have something to do with the o-zone layer, but I don't think we are effecting global warming, that is the earth taking care of itself. From what I understand, the O-zone layer does not protect us from heat at all, it simply blocks harmful UV rays, which helps us from getting cancers and other sort of things.
