Should I?

Okay, well I just saw that Newegg is having a 48-hour sale on PSU's. I'm not necessarily in need of a new one, but I could go for one. My Silverstone is still working perfectly, but it sure is loud. Also, it get's pretty warm (making it even louder due to the fan spinning faster) now that it's upstairs in my room as opposed to the basement where it is about 10 degrees (C) cooler. My PSU definitely has an effect on the ambient temperature in my room (my room is the hottest room in the entire house by about 5 degrees when my pc is on). I do have money to burn, and I could also go for another 2gb of ram.

I'm not 100% sure if there will be a temperature difference, but the noise level alone may be worth the $70. Also, it's modular which would allow my case to be EVEN cleaner (woo-hoo!). I guess I'm pretty much answering my own question, but heck I'll ask it anyway....Do you think it's worth it?

You could just change the fan on your PSU. If your warranty isn't active, that is. The PSU you chose is a decent one.

My current PSU has a 3-year warranty so it won't be void until march '11. I'd rather not replace the fan just because I don't want to void the warranty in case it ever decides to break down on me (which I don't think would happen, but it helps to be prepared for the unexpected). My Silverstone really is a fantastic power supply, and I know I'd be downgrading in a sense, but I'm sure the OCZ would be able to hold its own.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm going to go ahead and buy this stuff. I'm sure Cabbs will be proud of me for getting a modular PSU.
