i seen this one at work and i was impressed with it
i want a light, thin decent size screen, laptop
must have an optical drive
and a full keyboard
very good battery life
and look good as well
and for that price point i can buy a new HDD and slap it in there and run Ubuntu :D

my only hesitation is that CPU
but all i will be doing with it is a little music, word processing, and the internet away from home
and maybe when im too tired to get out of bed

what are your opinions?

Teh,, The C2S is quite old technology. See if you can find one featuring a CDC (Celeron Dual Core). They probably will cost about the same and will be more productive and probably run a little cooler. Intel mastered teh CDC's mobile on consumption and heat from what I've heard.

interesting link
but the screen isnt LED backlit, it weighs more then 4 lbs, and is over 1" thick, the battery isnt 8 hrs
but other then that i like it

I just want to point out that the laptop you originally posted does not have a full sized keyboard. A fullsize laptop keyboard also has a numpad.

willing to go up to 1500 USD
but i want a good light, thin laptop with an optical drive and a good battery life
