What are the cables called so that that I can connect laptop to HDTV?

I do have some further questions I just want to "double-check" to see before I order from monoprice, are these 3 cables all I need for the two different TV's that mentioned above (22inch, white red and yellow, and the 25inch S-video)

and finally this S-video extender cable, a quick question about this cable are you guys sure that its suppose to be a Male to Male cable? (THIS CABLE)

cause I want/need it to connect to this

that S-video extender cable will be able to plug into the small (VGA to S-video cable) and then from the extender s-video cable into the TV? (TALKINg ABOUT THE S-VIDEO PANASONIC 25" SCREEN TV)

Yup. You'll need these two cables to do the RCA inputs on the TV with the Y, W, and R inputs.

and finally this S-video extender cable, a quick question about this cable are you guys sure that its suppose to be a Male to Male cable? cause I want/need it to connect to this

Yes. It's M/M. I accidentally posted the M/F cable and 01001010 corrected my mistake. My fault there. So yes, you want the M/M cable because the S-Video port on that converter you have now and the input on the TV are both female, therefore you need a M/M cable.

:) You should be good to go.

And just remember, that S-Video cable is cheap, so I'd go that route, but if you don't want to, you CAN get that VGA gender changer I posted if you want to use your already-owned VGA extension.

Im gona go with the S-Video cable. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP! I really appreciate it. this is great forums! thanks so much I might post back when I Get all this stuff in the mail and try an set it up. I might need some help with that.

Sounds good. I'm glad we could work it all out. I apologize for snapping at you in my posts a couple times. Been a crappy last couple of days and I've been taking it out on the wrong people. Don't hesitate to come back when you get your stuff if you can't figure it out!

Cheers shadow!

hey ok so I finally got the cables, well actually I got them like a week ago but im finally deciding to set them up to my OLD panasonic 25" TV. So. i set them up i took the VGA to S-video cable and connected it to the male to male s-video cable and plugged that into the back of my TV. then i took the audio cable plugged it into my PC and plugged it into the back of my tv. and now im stuck. idk what to do. i turned on my TV and nothing. on my HDTV. I had to set the input to "PC" but on this old TV it doesnt have that. I hit TV/VIDEO and turned it to Video 2. but nothing happend. I tried fooling around a bit with my notebook and turned the video onto MONITOR.in the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator program. . but nothing happend. what do i do? do u want me to take screen-shots of the program that lets me change all these settings to monitor and stuff like that or what? I can also take pictures of the back of my TV if you need me to.
