I've got this Instrument to USB cable, and finally want to put it to good use.
It's not the exact model, but it's very similar to this:

So, this cord works fine. It's picked up by my computer, and I can record with anything that has the applicable jack. I recently discovered Audacity, and it's really exciting for me.
My only problem with this thing is: I can't get playback on my speakers when it's plugged in. For example, I've got this Casio keyboard that has the right jack for this cord. Whenever something is plugged to this jack, however, the playback is meant to come out of the other end (i.e. an amp).
So, whenever my keyboard is plugged in to my computer, I have no playback whatsoever. Is there any way I can get my computer to work as an amp, so that I can hear my keyboard through my speakers?
(I've toggled with all of the audio device volume levels, all to no avail.)
