I did search the forum first for any articles relating to this but the search engine threw up nothing.

I've got a GIF image that needs reducing in size. Is there any free software that I can use to reduce the size of it?

Also can I speed up the frame rate?

I use photoshop for GIFs and the only free software I can think of off hand that is a semi-decent replacement (free) for PS is GIMP. You could try that and see if you can mess with GIFs and animation...I'm not sure to be honest.

Paint.net sprang to my mind (if you're using windows.) I personally prefer it to the GIMP - though they're both fully featured, good pieces of software. That should sort you out for static GIFs, though I'm not sure about speeding up / slowing down...

Cool. I've got Photoshop CS4.

I use greenfish icon editor for my gifs. Its decent and free.

Downloaded and using it now.

Thanks peeps!
