I Need a cpu cooler for my build does any body no which one i should get

I just recently build a system with a AMD Phenom II X4 940 Black Edition 3 Ghz. I was really amazed how cool it runs with the stock heat sink, even under a full load.

Bang for your buck-Xigmatek S1283, S1284, or any other 120MM HDT heatsink.

Best performer-Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme.

I now have the scythe Orochi, or SCORC cooler.. It is basically the biggest and most silent ne on the market. Once I put better fans on this thing, it will bee amazing.

Glad you didn't get a pre-built though.

I don't really see a use for the 4870x2 though, unless you are going to have dual HD monitors or something.
If you stick with one, a single 4870 should be fine.

But man, that's an awesome rig...

I use a Zalman CNPS 9900. WOrks great on my Phenom II X4 940. I have OC'ed it over 4Ghz and this baby keeps the temps around 35c 50 full load. Ambient temps are 75, used Arctic Silver 5.

i will post temps on the stock SCORC a bit later if my CPU finishes its world tour and comes today.
This really is a massive cooler.

If you have space problems, try a Me Orb. This is what I have. A little noisy but it work very well.
