ALSO, will it fit into my HAF 922 case wit hthe heat spreaders on it(i think thats what they are. theyre extra big looking.

my computer build (still choosing RAM only at this point I think, everything else seems to be good and compatible, I hope :p)

One is a 6GB (3x 2GB) kit and the other is a 3GB kit (3x 1GB).

The main factor in using that memory is the CPU heatsink. If it overlaps the memory slots, they will not fit.
 
thank you. updated the mobo to the a-1 evga x58
and the evga GTX 285 to the evga GTX 285 2 gig super overclocked for an extra 10 bucks. would have gone with the 1 gig but the 2 gigs was just too tempting. as far as BFG, they were pretty cool, had my first custom with the BFG brand video card, but evga mobo and vid card would look better imo :p

i see nothing wrong with it so far, everythign is retail except for the HD, optical drive, OS. WOuld originally start off with the velociraptor HD, but the 1tb should be fine, until i upgrade later to a SSD.

See any last problems with this tune-up? :) again sorry seems like ive been on here forever postign and asking questions and for input

so far with shipping&handling + tax it comes out to barely over 2k at $2040 dollars total! not bad for a full tower and sweet f@ck all monitor :p

You said you wouldn't be overclocking, just go with a cheaper X58 board, it will be fine for you and you'll save some money. This MSI supports CF and SLi as well.

The performance difference between the 2GB 285 and the 1GB is negligible, don't bother spending anything extra on it, you could get an HD 4870 X2 for that price.

And like I said previously, you do not need DDR3 1600, i7 just doesn't need the bandwidth and you'd be spending more money for no reason. Go with a 3x2GB DDR3 1333 kit.

You'll also want a SATA disk drive, much smaller and neater cables than IDE. Here.

And if you're going to spend that much on a PSU, make it modular.

EDIT: Sucks that all 24" are 1920x1080 now.

well with all you told me, I did go with the SATA optical drive and not the IDE :p

I dont like MSI as a manufacturer so i stayed evga.

I really liked the 1600 Corsair memory on new egg so I went with the cas-8, on par with the cas 6-7 1333. even though ill be paying a wee bit more.

and the xigmatek modular PSU had some bad reviews with overheating, and a review site gave it a good but not THAt good review, corsair was just better all around
