do i need better memory??

your asus motherborad should have a cd that came with which should have a program on it to tell you. if not you can go to there site and download it

oh ok! i'll try that tomorrow and see if i can work out how to do it. i have the cd so i'll load that up. so, the programme i load will alowe me to see the temp right?

You could also try PC Wizard. It will tell you all sorts of nifty things about your computer, including the temperatures.

I'd do that memtest to check the memory, check the cpu temperature like a couple people said already (might be overhearting with the games you play)

thanks guys will do as suggested! this may sound like a totally dumb qusetion, so please forgive my ignorance! why would the cpu be over heating after 10-20-30 minutes playing a game? i have acouple of fans in there that move the air out etc, so, why would it be over heating? and if it is over heating, what can i do about this? can i, as suggested when i check the temp, turn the temp down or something? or do i need a bigger better fan or something? i nether thought i would have so much trouble just to play a couple of games! lol
