Damsel In Distress

So what about speakers or a sound card for my system? Can I get a decent one for $40 - $50? Any recommendations?

If you're motherboard came with a built in chip, you don't need to buy one.
Unless you are totally into music, editing, mixing etc. you won't really see the difference between built in and a PCI card.

Your MSI K9N2 SLI Platinum has a built in 8.1 channel sound chip. All you really need to do is install the sound drivers from the software CD that came with the motherboard.

The Logitech X-240 25 Watts 2.1 Speaker is a nice sounding speaker setup for under $50.

I went with the cheaper X-140. WOW what a difference in sound! I've been listening to the tinny speakers in a laptop for years amd forgot what real sound is like!

Thanks again guys and special kisses to "Rooster" for the speaker suggestion!
