i'm getting the phenom II x4 955 which has a unlocked multiplier, is there a limit to how far i can raise it? if i do raise it will it make the cpu hotter, or make it so i'll have to raise the voltages?

thanks,

Unlocked chips can go pretty high. But, the higher you clock it, the more you have to bump your voltage up. That translates to a lot more heat and power being consumed.

thanks :)
what r some programs i can use to test to see if its stable?

You want to run Memtest on your memory to check if it's functional.

Prime95 is a great program to test for stability.

RealTemp is a great program to check temperatures.

CPUID is good for checking statistics.
