My New Rig?

I don't see anything keeping you from buying the better motherboard. :D

If Gigabyte is better, then I'm going with that.
I am NOT cutting corners for sure.
Thanks Foothead, you're always a big help.
You too Atomic Rooster, I forgot :D
If you guys have better things for the same price, please let me know.

LOL OK. I was just trying to help and giving you options.
I wish I had seen this before I bought my 955.
O well. At least my new PC will pwn. :D

You can give me the 955, and you can get the combo :D
I know you were trying to help, you, along with everyone else, are always helping.

LOL no thanks.

I got the 955 and the ECS A790GXM-AD3 mobo with 4gb Kingston 1333 DDR3 RAMs.

Also would you recommend four gigs of ram, or six gigs, or eight?
People are saying that more RAM is the biggest determinator in how the game runs.
I think four is good, or maybe six. Any comments?

I'd say 4 is plenty or go with 8.
IMO the biggest determinator is the speed of the ram and # of channels.
IMO 6 is not really a good #.
Get 4 at first and if u need more then buy it.

I was thinking same.
Since they come in Four Gig packs, and I'm not liking my performance, I'll add another pack, and problem solved.
Never hurts to ask though.
One more question (For Now *Evil Laugh*)
Should I keep my processor with stock cooling, or go for aftermarket cooler?
I won't be overclocking so I'm thinking stock is OK, right?

4GB of memoery is about the sweet spot with Vista 64-bit. Unless your doing any editing, you'll be fine.

The OEM cooler is fine at default CPU settings. If you plan to overclock, than an aftermarket cooler is in your future.
