mobo and cpu combo question

Hi Guys, Looking for a mobo and CPU combo with 8GB og RAM. I want to spend around $120-140. I have no idea which mobos or CPU's that are decent for that price. I am not a gamer but I am looking for a core 2 duo. I would like this computer to last at least a few years.

The cheapest combo is this one: Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 Wolfdale - Intel BOXDG41TY LGA 775 Intel G41 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard - $184.98

That motherboard has only two memory slots and will support 8GB, the cheapest 8GB (2x 4GB) kit I could find costs $229.99!

For the combo I posted, your case needs to be at least a micro-ATX type and most any power supply with a 24-pin connector will work. What case and power supply do you currently have?

What computer do you have now that this will be going into? Is it a prebuilt like a Dell or Compaq?

It was built by a third party vendor that my school went though. That is probably no help to you though.
