Hello everybody....thanks for reading my post :)

Here's my problem:
- Watch videos on CNN, youtube, etc. and play music from MP3s on C drive.
- Sound works perfectly for couple days, sometimes hours then gone
- Have to turn computer off and reboot then sound works fine until the cycle has to be repeated.

Any advice?

I suggest you download multiple free anti virus programs and scan your system with them.

Did you check your sound property page to make sure that it is not muted or the volume turned to 0?

Yes, its not a volume issue because every time I reboot the sound works fine again.

I have avast antivirus which is supposed to be updated in real time (or an annoying little box pops up on screen daily to tell me virus database has been updated) and also run ad-aware.

Please excuse the layman's terms which may be a little off - This prob started couple months ago when had my computer wiped clean, reloaded windows, etc. Would this be something with not reinstalling the sound card properly?

If I don't know what that means I'm assuming it hasn't been done ;)

1. How do I get the most recent drivers?
2. If the problem is not having the most recent, would I regain sound after ever reboot?

Thanks for the help
