TBH, I would go with one of the 45nm quads. Sure, they will have a lower multiplier, but they will also have a higher FSB wall.
The Q8400 which has an 8x multi, performs as good as or better than the Q6600 whilst using less power and overclocking just as well. That would be my choice.
