Not possible. The moon never did have an atmosphere. And when it got blasted out of the earth's early forming crust, it was from the desolate North American batholith. And now there is not enough depth of crushed debris for ice to have accumulated even IF there was ice there in the first place.

And another thing, why would National Geographic know if there was water on the moon??? They don't have moon observing satellites and have never sent their own geologic teams to the moon. This article is not scientifically backed.

Partially true. But you need a sustainable atmosphere to hold the water and combine it with other gases. And for that you need plants, volcanoes, or preferably both. The moon has neither and therefore it's just microscopic ice crystals on the surface. But with every sizable meteorite, the ice will vaporize and go elsewhere.

Actually, I think the Moon will eventually be vaporized by the sun when the sun runs low on hydrogen and starts consuming helium, IIRC.

Their moons are very cold. And much larger than our moon might I add. Some of those moons do have atmospheric gases which came from volcanism which is still active on some of the moons today. The moons are larger and therefore more self-reliant on their own nuclear fuel in the core meaning volcanoes and the necessary gases to form atmospheres and ice deposits by forming bonds such as H2O and chemical weathering creating other gases and compounds. This means that they DO have there own atmospheres and do have ice deposits just as Mars and earth do. The moon does not have an atmosphere or gases because there is and never was any volcanism.

Seems to me that all this money we put into exploring other planets for life could be put into research here on earth to make a few pieces of our daily lives more efficient..
