Technically the metal casing acts as a ground. But you are right. The components are all hooked up with a ground wire.

Yeah, that's why I'm not really getting why there is a ground issue. Unless it's the fact that if there were static or something, that static is going to have to discharge THROUGH the components to get to the ground, whereas if there is a metal case, it will take the path of least resistance, and go right to the case->PSU.
