Can you go into the driver manager, uninstall it and then reboot and see if it automatically see it and the model? Then you could jot it down and find it.

OK. I got the sound driver installed and I have the sound icon now, but no sound is coming out of the speakers. What now?

Go into the sound properties and make sure there is nothing muted. Check to make sure the sound card is the default playback device. Speakers plugged into the correct port and turned on if they are powered?
