overclocking help

so in my bios when i set my voltage to 1.4 it only shows its current value at 1.34 is vdrop suppose to be that much?
also when i set my front side buss to 1156 for a 2.6 overclock i get bios dumps and freezing windows load up all voltages are normal i should be fine at this point?

Is everything set to Auto in the BIOS? I would go through all your settings and set them manually.

FSB -> 290 (290x9=2610MHz)
Memory ratio: 1/1 -> 580 DDR
Stock memory timings
-Set all voltages manually:
Vcore to whatever value you deem necessary.
CPU PLL: 1.5V
FSB/VVT voltage: 1.2V
Memory: Stock volts specified by the manufacturer.
NB and SB at stock volts unless Nvidia chipsets really do suck as bad as I think they do and you need to increase the voltages. If you do, only increase the NB voltage.

It can be, my P5K's Vdrop was even worse before I modded it.
