ok, last two things How do I hook up the HDD:

and the optical drive:

to the mother board:

I have this PSU:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139009

neither the HDD or the Burner came with any cables.

I'm thinking I need an IBE cable? I use the SATA from the Power supply to power the HDD and the Burner right?

also, I have the antec 1200 case, can I plug all the fans in together and then just use one 4 pin from the power supply to run them?

You will need 2 SATA Cables for those Drives.

Also it depends on the fans as to where they plug in,some plug into the 4 Pin Molex plugs on the power supply and some plug directly into the motherboard.

so I use the SATA cable from the drive to the mobo to transfer the information. I'm having trouble telling what cable I use to power them? do I need some sort of adapter? the links have pictures of the inputs on the drives.

so it seems that any fans I plug into the PSU are going to be on when the power is on, and any I plug into the mobo the computer controls? my case has fan controls on it.

and is it ok to plug multiple fans in with one cable from the PSU?

what are you talking about with fans...?

anyways...the power cables should come from your power supply and say SATA on them... so just plug those into the HD/optical drive - they will only go in one way...then plug in your data connections and then into the sata ports on ur board.

Ok the SATA makes sense. I think I got that.

What I'm getting at with the fans is, I have the antec1200 case and every fan has a 4 pin connector with a "in" on one side and a "out" on the other.

Can I connect all 6 fans together and then power them with one 4 pin cable from my PSU?

uhhhh.... your fans should plug into the motherboard...at least some of them - the molex daisy chain together so you probably just plug all of them into each fan or something...idk, the only case i have has one fan so...good luck

There really isn't a right or wrong way to hook up fans. It's whatever works best in the situation. If they all turn on, and you're happy with it, then it's right. Power is power, regardless if you get it from one connector or 4 connectors.

EDIT: Keep in mind though, if you have it plugged straight into the power supply it will just run on full blast all the time. If you hook it up to the motherboard, it will be controlled by the computer.

ok, I think I got it....

thanks for the help guys.

Hopefully I will have the OS installed an be running COD by tomorrow!
