I wouldn't get 12gigs unless your doing some hardcore animation rendering and video editing dude. Wow,Warhammer, left 4 dead and all that. You wouldn't use more then 3gigs at most..

I am just wondering how long it will take for programming habits to change now that we are in the 64bit era..

I did read an article that said 6 is much better than 3 with the i7 processors.. so thats what im goin with.

I believe he's looking to build a Core i7 system, so I think 4GB may be out of the question being that they run a triple channel memory configuration.

I wouldn't build a Core i7 system, they are going to be discontinued soon.

I say go AMD or wait for 6 core processors
