I need help with my sound!!!!!!!! HELP

Well I recently purchased a computer of my friend, and it has been working great!

When I went to listen to music there was no sound.......

When purchasing this computer he told me that the computer was recently A vista computer, but he installed xp over it.........

I went to the gateway site and found the correct driver and said it was not compatible with XP....

I dont mind buying anything, as long as its not too expensive....

Does Windows Update find any compatible drivers?

That's the problem with taking computers designed for Vista and installing XP on them, the lack of compatible drivers.

No it just downloads other updates.....

Don't put XP drivers over top of Vista. You really should have a VERY GOOD REASON to put multiple OS's on one computer. Especially with one a sensitive as Vista. I am sure it is done though, and done correctly. Just be careful.
