ASUS motherboard

it is fine, newegg reviewers are usually noobs that don't know what they are doing.

If not all you need to do is flash your bios.

The board should POST even if it's BIOS isn't updated. Then all you need to do is to put the BIOS on a USB stick (doesn't even need to be made bootable), enter the BIOS and then flash using ASUS's EZFLash tool.

so if it dosent come with the right BIOS just go to ASUs's website and download the right BIOS and the EZflash tool? also to enter the BIOS dont i need a processor thats compatible with the motherboard?

Anyone?

If the board posts you will be fine to use the EZflash tool with your CPU. My board needed a BIOS flash when I got my 955 but it still booted, POSTed, and ran but the CPU wasn't at its rated speed. If it doesn't than you may need to have a different CPU. (as long as it isn't something else causing the board not to post... AKA DOA components)

so if it dosent post should i just buy the cheapest cpu i can find thats compatible with the board and use that?
