sniperviper21 Golden Master Messages 5,460 Location USA Jun 1, 2009 #2 they are pretty much equal, core 216 = 4870 1GB http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,2845,2331449,00.asp

N ndatoxicity Daemon Poster Messages 723 Jun 1, 2009 #3 ok.... so its only equal to a 1gb version? so a 512mb 4870 would be inferior?
Holysky Fully Optimized Messages 3,692 Jun 1, 2009 #4 it might be a little less at higher resoltions. A lot of people own a core 216, i say trust them and get one of the core 216 because from what i hear, they overclock like a champ

Cabbs Golden Master Messages 7,912 Jun 1, 2009 #5 From the benchmarks I've seen, it's about a 5 FPS difference between the 512MB and 1GB 4870. You're still better off with the 1GB though if the price isn't much higher. You also may want to look into the GTX 260 Core 216.

Tommy Boy Golden Master Messages 8,463 Location USA Jun 1, 2009 #6 Doesn't sound like a whole lot of difference to me, not enough to worry about anyway.
N ndatoxicity Daemon Poster Messages 723 Jun 1, 2009 #7 im probably just going to stick with the core 216 then... the only reason i was asking are the prices on the core 216s are starting to steadily go up

Holysky Fully Optimized Messages 3,692 Jun 1, 2009 #8 Actually the have went down a lot. A month before you joined, none of them were under 200 mostly Don't worry ATi is getting VERY cheap now. Nvidia will have will have no choice but to drop prices
